Window and door industry suppliers to showcase a variety of new components, equipment and systems
MIKRON
SuperCoat,
designed especially for window and door
manufacturers
competing in
the replacement
market, is durable color coating
system, which is
vacuum-applied
and cured by ultraviolet light. Based on ASTM D3363-
05 color surface hardness testing, the coating is 800
percent harder than competitive paint—testing to a 4H
level compared to a leading waterborne paint at 2B, the
supplier reports. The product is also said to be more
environmentally-sensitive than paint, since it a zero VOC
technology. Available in six colors, SuperCoat is different
from competing systems and made available only to only
Mikron’s partners producing PVC, composite or fiberglass window and door products. Small and mid-sized
OEM partners will find that the vacuum-applied process
is faster-to-market and less capital intensive than setting
up typical specialty paint or coating systems, the supplier states. The company is also showing a new double
sliding window design for its Mikron Wood 1750 replacement series.

AMESBURY
The supplier’s various divisions will each be featuring
new products in Las Vegas.
Highlighting new Amesbury
Group offerings is the Tru-Lock multipoint hardware
for entry doors, designed to
provide increased security
while allowing the homeowner traditional flexibility
in trim set hardware. The
system easily incorporates
into standard double bore
panel systems of all types
and is adaptable to work
with most handle brands in the market today, the supplier
states. Also being shown is an expanded line of Omega
constant force balance hardware, EcoBan antimicrobial
pile and fin products resistant to mold, mildew and fungi,
and new Foam-Tite C2 Continuous Seal, a kerf-mounted
foam product specifically designed for casement window
applications. Engineered to solve problems associated
with hard welds and poorly mitered joints, the seal runs
continuously through all four corners of a casement window eliminating the need for mitering or welding entirely,
which means no leaks and reduced closing force, according to the supplier.

FRIEDMAN
Frontier CADFlow leverages the capabilities of Autodesk Inventor to bring
digital prototyping, advanced engineering capabilities, and powerful 3D
modeling and presentation tools to product developers, sales force, customers, and shop-floor personnel, all fully-integrated with existing Frontier
applications and workflow, the supplier states. From Friedman Corp., the
product enhances the quote-to-sale process with powerful 3D visualization
and communication capabilities. It also speeds new product development and reduces engineering costs for custom,
“one-off” engineered-to-order configurations, according to the supplier. The system allows rapid deployment as it allows Frontier users to use existing models, rules, databases and expertise.
