TRUSEAL
The award-winning
Envirosealed Windows program is
being highlighted by Truseal Technologies at GlassBuild
in September. The Envirosealed Windows campaign is
designed to simplify environmental and energy savings
messaging for window manufacturers and dealers by highlighting the thermal efficiency benefits of top performing
spacer systems. Program participants can address the growing demand for green products through consumer-ready
educational tools such as literature, point-of-sale pieces
and a dedicated Web site. Marketing pieces tout benefits
like lower energy consumption and reduced CO2 emissions
that are made possible by using Truseal’s Dura Platform
flexible spacer systems, including Duralite and Duraseal
spacers. Through the Envirosealed Windows program, the
company helps manufacturers choose from a variety of precertified component packages that yield windows exceeding current tax credit requirements. Producers are able to
economically create Envirosealed Windows with ratings as
high as R- 6 (0.17 U-value), which is 50 percent better than
Energy Star 2010 criteria, according to the supplier.

PRES-ON
Made from
a blend
of finely-ground tire
rubber and
plastics, new
eco-friendly
separator pads
and setting
blocks are
available in
either EPDM
or neoprene
commercial-grade rubber. While some recycled rubber
products may leave behind unsightly stains on metal or
glass, Pres-On blocks and pads are certified to the most
stringent stain-resistant testing requirements, the supplier states. Superior impact strength, low specific gravity and weather resistance are other advantages of the
recycled rubber. In addition, the pads and blocks can be
recycled again and again.
